Charllote has passed into the next life.

November 21st, 2009

Our incredible friend Charlotte has made the transition to the next life around 1:30 this afternoon.  She was surrounded by her family and she transitioned with peace, beauty, and dignity that was so typically Charlotte!

As soon as we know the wants and plans of the family regarding an honoring event, we will post the information on the Fort Bragg Yoga Studio website.

Happy Birthday Charlotte Yoneda!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHARLOTTE

October 3rd, 2009

Charlotte’s birthday is on October 29th (just a few days after Eliana’s).  This year the family would like to have a gathering honoring Charlotte on October 17th.  If you would like to join in the honoring, please let the family know you are coming to join them.  The gathering is open to all of Charlotte’s friends, family, and colleagues.  You can email Yvonne for details and arrangements at: dophin@surewest.net

If you cannot make it over there, but would like to join in in some fashion, consider sending a card to 1908 Terrace, Sacramento, CA, 95825   –The family appreciates having the letters, cards, and notes to read to Charlotte.

Charlotte is experiencing a great deal of edema right now.  The current thought regarding this situation is that perhaps her liver is fatiguing and this is what is causing the edema.  The medical factions are putting their heads together to decide exactly how to proceed.

All long distance healing and prayers are welcome.

We’ve done some more out of the box things, including having her evaluated by a doctor who is a brain expert, and trained in waking people up out of comas. He spent 6 intense hours with her and gave us a protocol to stimulate her right brain, which is where he thinks the imbalance is. Charlotte also received an Akashic Record healing last weekend from a group of healers trained to do such things, with very wonderful results. We’ve consulted a shamanic astrologer who she really likes, and got transits for both Charlotte and Tom, which gave us very good information.  Charlotte was apprenticing with a shaman healer in Maui, and she will be visiting the day after she dances the International Sundance in Montana at the end of the month. These new things, along with the daily care she receives from her dedicated nurses, caregivers, doctors, energy healings (both in person and distance), and family members, continues to hold the space for Charlotte to make her decisions based on what is best for her.
The Sanctuary, which is the little cozy house next door to Rose Light Terrace hosted two workshops in July. Both workshops were in the planning stages with Charlotte’s input in June of 2008. It took a year, but the workshops were a success, and the first of many to come. The naturopath who has been instrumental in Charlotte’s process just moved his Sacramento office into the Sanctuary, and so the healing community continues to spring up around her in a very organic way. Charlotte’s sister Pauli continues to travel between her home in Mt. Shasta, Sacramento and San Rafael, where she helps to care for their mother and sister. When she isn’t able to be in Sacramento, she writes letters just about every day, and talks to her every day on the phone. All of the letters, cards and prayers from Charlotte’s friends are truly appreciated and shared with Charlotte. The family would love to hear and read Charlotte stories from anyone who would like to share them. These can be thoughts or memories or dreams or experiences that they feel moved to share from any time or space. This is such an amazing journey, and we would love to have input from everyone involved.  You can mail them to Yvonne at 1936 Kincaid Way, Sacramento, CA 95825, or email them to dolphin@surewest.net. The compilation of all these stories might make a great book someday.
Tom remains vigilant, by her side pretty much 24 hours per day. This is their love story—perhaps unconventional—but a love story nonetheless, celebrating the miracle of communication beyond the physical, and a lesson in unconditional love that we all can learn from. Eliana returns to college in Los Angeles at the end of the month as a sophomore. She continues to grow and blossom in the presence of her mom’s healing journey, moving into adulthood knowing she is loved and cherished. Yvonne and her family are a daily presence at Rose Light. The twins run loose in the house, bringing laughter and joy as only six year olds can. The family pets Mocha, Jerry and Angel are constant companions and great reminders to relax, and take it easy in the Sacramento summer. The garden produces yummy zucchini, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, potatoes, beets, carrots, green beans, carrots, cantaloupe, watermelon and herbs. Every day is a blessing and  a gift!
I’ve attached three pictures of Charlotte and the family for the website. The group photo has Levi, Yvonne, Tom, Charlotte, Tamara, Eliana and Natasha. The next picture is of Charlotte, Tom & Mimi, and the third picture is of Eliana, Charlotte & Star.

Charlotte is doing really well

June 24th, 2009

The family reports that Charlotte is doing really well. She looks and feels much more aware and awake.  Her process continues to be overseen by a Sacramento naturopath, meticulously implemented daily by Tom with professional, qualified nursing and caregiver support.

Finding adequate round-the-clock coverage of care-giving  for Charlotte has been a sticky issue over recent months, with caregivers sometimes not showing up at the last minute.  Tom daily covers a minimum of one 8-hour shift of Charlotte care.  So, if a caregiver fails to show, it leaves Tom to do still yet another shift.  And when Tom can’t stay awake on his feet, other family members leave work to assist.  Charlotte’s sister continues to commute from Shasta every few weeks “to spell” Tom.

So it is good news that a new care-giving agency has entered their lives.  Everyone is cautiously optimistic about the transition to a new agency.

The 9 PM Prayer Circle continues on.  The focus of prayer, intention, visualizations, and other energy work at this time should be for consistent qualified care-giving support for Charlotte.  In this manner Charlotte and her family will all be supported.  The family also thanks all of you for your continued, generous support of energy, cards, and well wishes.

Hurray for prayer!

March 10th, 2009

Charlotte’s blood-in-stool problem has become a non-problem.  Hurray for prayer!

She continues to inch her way forward in her progress.   Last week, while in her special chair, she lifted her head on her own.  As if to make sure her efforts were not dismissed as a fluke, or to be taken lightly, she held it up, on her own for over 2 minutes, amazing everyone present.

Cards are welcome, prayers and healing energy are always appreciated.  The 9 PM Prayer Circle continues to encourage and invite participation from wherever you are.

Charlotte continues forward in her progress.

February 16th, 2009

Charlotte continues to inch her way forward in her progress.  However, her coma state continues.  She is responsive in that she smiles and frowns at appropriate times, she sometimes moves her head, and now has strong control over the muscles used in leveling her eyes.  Her physiological vitals are strong.

Recently, some blood has turned up in the bowels.  Currently under investigation no one yet know what this represents.

The flu season has had a huge negative impact on the caregivers/staff.  The end result is that Tom is working double shifts, frequently one of them the night shift.  Yvonne is working hard on researching beefing up the team and searching for additional support.

With Tom running on empty, we ask that prayers and alternative healing energy offer support for everyone involved:  for Charlotte we ask for Reiki, and healing energy for the mysterious blood in the bowels; for Tom we ask for restorative energy, wellness, and strength; for Yvonne we ask for vitality, calmness, and for barriers to be removed in her quest for supplemental care support; and we ask for improved health for the care givers.

Thank you for all that you do.  The 9 pm Prayer Circle continues to welcome all from where ever you are, to join in nightly offerings of positive energy for Charlotte and her family.

Charlotte returns to her family’s home in Sacramento

December 12th, 2008

Charlotte has been moved to the family’s home in Sacramento.  Tom mentioned to me that he sees the muscles in her face relax at time in a manner that reflects deep rest, as he remembers from earlier years in Fort Bragg.  He has not seen this state at all during her hospital tenure, and he is happy to see her resting so completely.

Charlotte has been very expressive through her face; she smiles and frowns, and most recently grinned!  Always the expressions are timed perfectly with the moment, indicating her presence, and suggesting that memory and hearing are in tact.

Recently she lifted both arms simultaneously, the first noticeable show of bilateral coordination.  Also somewhat recently, she deliberately rolled her head to the side, crossing the midline of the body. (Crossing the midline of the body forces information flow across the corpus collosum of the brain between the two cerebral hemispheres.)  Both of the mentioned  benchmarks are very positive in terms of brain activity.

Meanwhile, prayers and distance healing continue to be most welcome!  The 9 PM Prayer Circle continues to operate and welcomes all additional good vibes.  Feel free to jump in from where ever you may be in the spirit of offering up intentions for health for our friend and her family.

Family is working very hard to bring Charlotte to their Sacramento home

November 14th, 2008

As you know, Charlotte’s family has been working very hard to bring her to their Sacramento home to continue her medical care in a home setting.  Many obstacles have presented themselves, but their resolve is firm and they proceed undaunted.  Recent success toward that end came with Tom completing most of his caregiver tasks under the watchful eyes of the medical community.  Charlotte’s sister, Pauli, too, has completed most of the protocol.  Yvonne is underway, as well.

There are obstacles involving the medical administration of UC Davis Medical Center, and Blue Shield.  We ask that prayers, intentions, visualizations and meditations be directed toward a request for compassion from administrative and bureaucratic circles.  As always, the 9PM Prayer Circle invites all interested to join in wherever you are with whatever prayer, spiritual, healing or energetic practices you care to devote.  We believe that there is maximum potential in the synchronization of our intentions!

Meanwhile, Charlotte is physically looking better.  She has gained a little weight, has color and firmness in her cheeks.  Her eyes are open, but not yet focusing on demand.  She shows emotions through tears and smiles.  It is very clear that the naturopathics and homeopathics have produced a positive shift.

The naturopathic and homeopathic processes used in her care are extensive.  Tom is tirelessly devoted to overseeing the many-times-daily administration of these remedies via feeding tube. Pauli is also versed in the daily Charlotte care.  Tom keeps up with the many details regarding changes in dosages, additions, and deletions within the protocol, which continue to change as she moves through her repair process.  He is sharing all of his learning with Yvonne, so she can pinch hit for him and Pauli.

Eliana is adjusting to college at Occidental, in the LA Basin.  She comes up to Sacramento to visit periodically.  Mocha, the retriever, has finally relocated to the Sacramento home and is adjusting beautifully.

If you would like to send a message to Charlotte, you can either post a comment here on the blog (which Tom or Yvonne can print out and read to her at the hospital) or you can mail a card to her at: 1908 Terrace Way, Sacramento, CA 95825

Charlotte’s family is asking for prayers, meditations, visualizations

October 28th, 2008

Charlotte’s holding pattern continues, and now with some tremors and slightly less stable physiological qualities than she has demonstrated in recent weeks.  The naturopath in charge of Charlotte’s care tells us that this is common for coma patients as they ascend to higher levels of conciousness, which he senses is happening for Charlotte.

It is still on the radar screen for Charlotte to be transferred to a home care environment.  It is a slow process, but it is moving forward.

This past Friday a birthday honoring was held in Charlotte’s room for Eliana.  It was quietly uplifting with the whole family together with Charlotte.

After the time of the celebration and the family had drifted home, it came to pass that the care giver on shift with Charlotte, had to step out of the room briefly.  In that short time, Charlotte’s traech tube detached.  It was a struggle for her during that short time, and she continued to struggle for some time after it was reconnected.

The medical staff at Davis has determined, during the recent scrutiny, that Charlotte has a bit of fluid in the lungs.  There is concern that this may be a touch of pneumonia.

The family is asking for prayers, meditations, visualizations, and long distance healings to be offered up for Charlotte, setting the intention for lung and heart (cardiorespiratory) good health.

The 9 pm Prayer/Meditation Circle continues to move forward with nightly practice.  Any and all are welcome to join in from wherever you are!
