Slowly making progress

August 21st, 2008

Charlotte is slowly making progress. She has shown some small measures of responsiveness. She has exhibited different indicators for different people. Charlotte seems most responsive for her sister, who communicates with her on that special wavelength that sisters often do with each other.

Today, Charlotte was seen by her naturopath who has taken in everyone’s input, assessed Charlotte’s current response to muscle testing, and sees progress. It is the speculation of family members, resonating with the naturopath’s insights, that Charlotte may be entering her “awakening” phase.

Today, as Yvonne was exiting Charlotte’s room, Yvonne leaned down to pillow level next to Charlotte’s ear, speaking softly, acknowledged and validated Charlotte’s efforts to make her presence known. Yvonne gave her a specific message, reporting on a known area of interest to Charlotte. Charlotte made a slight turning motion with her head, toward Yvonne, and unfurrowed her brow, relaxing her face muscles, and briefly opened her eyes slightly. Then she made movement with the facial muscles around her mouth, which reminded Yvonne of the muscles needed to speak and form sounds. The head turning motion is the first rotational type movement observed by family. And I can’t help but remember that the head turning reflex is the first, or at least among the first, of new born infant reflexes…

… keep the prayers, meditations, and healing coming… they seem to be having positive impact! The family expresses deep gratitude for all the long distance support, and positive energy being sent to Charlotte.

Join in Prayer Circle this Saturday

August 11th, 2008

On the calendar for this weekend is a lunar eclipse and full moon on Saturday August 16th . This is a powerful time of great psychic potential.  The moment of the partial lunar eclipse is 2:10 p.m  and 2:16 pm is the moment of the full moon.

Therefore, for those interested and willing, The Prayer Circle asks, that on Saturday, in addition to the 9 pm prayer and mediation, you allocate a full 8 minutes during the full moon and lunar eclipse.

Beginning at 2:09 and extending until 2:17 pm, radiate and beam love,  Reconnect and tune in to Charlotte as her friend, and surround her with that love.   Send healing energy and whatever prayers, visualizations and good wishes you would give.

The Prayer Circle is asking for a full 8 minutes beginning at 2:09 and lasting through 2:17 pm Pacific Time.  Prayer Circle will again reconvene with prayers, meditations, visualizations, Reiki, etc. at 9 pm, maximizing the potential of this time.

Healing practices are greatly appreciated.

Charlotte’s slow progress out of a coma state continues.  She makes her presence known on a daily basis.  She continues to move fingers on request and other small tasks.

Charlotte, now in the chronic ventilator unit at UCD Medical, is stable, and her seizures are diminishing.  Her family strongly desires moving her to their Sacramento home in a full time home-nursing situation with care directed by the naturopath.

The biggest obstacle at this time to the goal of home care is a UCD Medical policy.  In this policy, only infant chronic ventilator patients are released to home situations.  Otherwise, chronic ventilator patients are released to rehabilitation settings only.  It will take time to untangle the political web in which this situation is bound.

Meanwhile, prayers, meditations, visualizations, Reiki, and other long distance healing practices are greatly appreciated.

Never underestimate the power of prayer!

mandalaCharlotte was granted a small miracle when a bed opened up in the chronic ventilator unit of UC Davis.  She will be transferred there, remaining at UCD Medical while family members ready the Sacramento home for her transfer to home nursing care.

Thank you for all the continuous prayers, meditations, and visualizations.  Also, thank you for using the blog to send messages to Charlotte.  Her progress is slow but steady, and the messages read to her by family members are most helpful.

It is also possible to leave a message for Charlotte here. You may leave blessings for Charlotte and her family by clicking “comments” beneath this post. The blessings will be printed out and sent or taken to UC Davis for her and posted in her room.

Charlotte still needs your prayers, and focus.

July 25th, 2008

Charlotte was sent to an Acute Care facility in Folsom. Much progress was made, but some medications created a stress situation for her blood levels and a Code Blue situation ensued. Once defibrillation was successful, Charlotte was in a coma. She was sent to UC Davis Medical (again) and has remained there for the past few weeks. She is now in stable condition. Family members report she is making slow but steady progress.

Because she is now stable and making forward progress, the medical center feels it is no longer appropriate to maintain her in ICU. She would be best cared for in the “Chronic Vent” ward, however, there are no beds open in the Chronic Vent Ward at the writing of this update.

The hospital and insurance companies are applying pressure to have her moved back to the same Acute Care facility in which she sustained the Code Blue situation and resultant coma condition. However, in light of the question “was she medicated/overmedicated in a way which caused the Code Blue and coma situation?” the family feels it is premature and perhaps potentially dangerous to send her back.

Charlotte’s family is asking that all prayers, and the focus of the 9 PM Prayer Circle from 7-25-08 throughout the weekend, be for:
-a bed at Davis in the chronic vent ward
-safe and sane interactions with hospital and insurance administrators that result in the best possible decision for Charlotte’s well being and ability to thrive
-continued steady improvement in Charlotte’s strength and healing process

The 9 PM Prayer Circle invites all to join in wherever you may be at 9 PM on any day. We believe that the synergy of synchronized prayer is exponentially powerful and productive. Thank you to each of you participating!

Charlotte condition worsens

July 5th, 2008

Our courageous friend, Charlotte, has encountered a new, serious road block in her path to wellness.

A recent shift in blood chemistry has placed Charlotte in a coma situation with periodic seizures. She has been sent back from the Acute Care Rehab facility to UC Davis Medical and is in ICU in a “quiet zone”. Visits and phone calls are off limits at this time except for family.

When she will emerge from this coma state is a huge question. Family members feel that her hearing and memory are fully in tact and that she is nearly fully present. Her seizures are being managed with medication while doctors are investigating the source.

Our friend Joy, with input from Yvonne, has adapted and personalized a Tibetan prayer for Charlotte. We ask that you add it to your existing routine of support. Perhaps individuals of the 9 pm prayer circle could begin and end with this??

From the family members, deep heartfelt thanks goes out to each and every one of you for the unflagging support of our friend, Charlotte.

Charlotte’s Prayer

I know you can hear me
Remember you are safe
The Universe is Love
Rest in Faith
Rest in your heart
Rest in the core of your heart chakra
Move your will into your heart
You True Self
Your True Power
Your True Strength
Is in the center of your heart
You are surrounded by Love
We are all here
We love you

A moment of strength!

June 29th, 2008

Our friend Charlotte is having a moment of strength! Between the move out of Davis ICU to the new Acute Care facility and the graduation to a stomach feeding tube, she has renewed spirit, and mental energy galore!  This is all good.

Although her voice is soft, she is feeling well enough to make and receive a few short phone calls.

She continues to be a prolific writer and is enjoying the cards and letters that we all are sending to her.  Hopefully, we can continue sending her mail!  The address is on the blog.

Still on the subject of writing, Charlotte is doing some curriculum development for the Yoga Studio, as her strength permits.  It will take quite some time to develop the training materials fully, but eventually the materials will be used as a continuing education course for fitness professionals.

Charlotte sends her love and deep thanks for all the prayers and healing energy that is sent to her daily.

Charlotte is looking forward to exchanging mail with her friends

June 11th, 2008

While in the ICU at Davis Medical Center, our friend Charlotte was told that the gold standard of treatment for her diagnosis of amyloidosis is chemotherapy.  She was also told that since she was too weak to undergo chemo, and as such, there was nothing Davis could do for her, other than sustain her with continued life support equipment and care.

A Naturopath was consulted by Charlotte and her family and subsequently brought in to Davis.  With cooperation of the medical center, a naturopathic protocol has begun.

Meanwhile, the medical center staff explained that if Charlotte agreed to undergo a tracheotomy, then she could be ventilated via her throat instead of her mouth which would mean increased comfort with a shorter length of tubing down her throat.  Charlotte agreed, and the operation has been successful.  She now receives throat fed ventilation.  She has also successfully received a feeding tube in lieu of IV, another step forward.

Charlotte is experiencing some return of strength, enough so that she can write letters and journal entries.  With the new style of ventilation, she can enjoy limited speech and conversations.  She is looking forward to exchanging mail with her friends.

With the resurgence of strength comes a transfer out of the ICU and into an Acute Care facility.  The new setting is situated north of Davis, is small, has excellent staff, and specializes in rehabilitation of acute care patients and getting them off of life support equipment.

Charlotte made a very special point to call and say how VERY much she appreciates all the prayers, Reiki, and Healing Energies on her behalf.  She sends special thanks to All Participants of the 9 PM prayer/meditation/healing group

All are welcome to participate with the group.  The theory is that each of our individual spiritual practices dedicated to Charlotte’s healing is amplified simply by creating synchronicity through timing it with all others.   We invite you to participate where ever you are with what ever you have to share (Reiki, prayer, psychic healing, positive visualization, etc) at 9 PM every night until Charlotte is released from hospitalization.

Charlotte is missing all of us and hopes that those who can will consider sending a note or card to their Sacramento address:

Sending light and love to our friend…

May 21st, 2008

In keeping with the light and love we hold for and send to our friend…
…All blessings left here for Charlotte and her family must be expressed in present or future tense and be:

  • Positive
  • Active
  • Clear
  • Energetic

Before composing, please take a moment to get quiet and calm, releasing all negative thoughts and destructive energies such as fear, anger, desparation, resentment, or regret. Clear your mind, breath deeply, inhaling through the nose long and slowly, exhaling through the mouth slowly with a soft “ha” breath to relax the jaw.

Welcome to “Blessings for Charlotte”

May 20th, 2008

Charlotte YonedaThis blog has been created as a vehicle by which friends can receive periodic updates and give blessings to Charlotte and her family.

What each of us can do at this moment to support Charlotte and her family is to push away fear and darkness. And instead create a sense of radiant healing, then set the intention that the sense of radiant healing energy move from you to her.

Our friend Charlotte is diagnosed with amyloidosis and is under care at UC Davis Medical center in the ICU. Tom is with her most of the time. Tom’s daughter Yvonne lives nearby with her husband and children, and they are with her often. Charlotte’s sister, Paulie, visits periodically from Mt. Shasta. Paulie is there now.

UC Davis has stated that Charlotte is too fragile to undergo chemo, the gold standard treatment for this condition. Tom and Charlotte are consulting with a naturopath and have begun a naturopathic protocol.

All of us friends have embarked on our respective long distance energetic healing campaigns individually. At 9 pm every night we unify/amplify our efforts and maximize our potential through synchronized prayer. It consists of 10 minutes of prayer which leads into the visualization and energetic healing we each use.

We invite you to join us. All prayers and blessings are welcome anytime, and most especially to the 9 pm prayer circle. Around 9:10 pm most of us move into our meditation and visualization of healing and vitality for Charlotte.

Because she is in the ICU, Charlotte cannot receive gifts, flowers, or food. She CAN have cards and photos. She has received many so far, and loves them. If you are so inclined to send a card you may mail it to:

For those of you wondering about details relative to amyloidosis, the web site of Mayo Clinic does a good job of answering many questions. You can find information about it at www.mayoclinic.com
