Slowly making progress
August 21st, 2008Charlotte is slowly making progress. She has shown some small measures of responsiveness. She has exhibited different indicators for different people. Charlotte seems most responsive for her sister, who communicates with her on that special wavelength that sisters often do with each other.
Today, Charlotte was seen by her naturopath who has taken in everyone’s input, assessed Charlotte’s current response to muscle testing, and sees progress. It is the speculation of family members, resonating with the naturopath’s insights, that Charlotte may be entering her “awakening” phase.
Today, as Yvonne was exiting Charlotte’s room, Yvonne leaned down to pillow level next to Charlotte’s ear, speaking softly, acknowledged and validated Charlotte’s efforts to make her presence known. Yvonne gave her a specific message, reporting on a known area of interest to Charlotte. Charlotte made a slight turning motion with her head, toward Yvonne, and unfurrowed her brow, relaxing her face muscles, and briefly opened her eyes slightly. Then she made movement with the facial muscles around her mouth, which reminded Yvonne of the muscles needed to speak and form sounds. The head turning motion is the first rotational type movement observed by family. And I can’t help but remember that the head turning reflex is the first, or at least among the first, of new born infant reflexes…
… keep the prayers, meditations, and healing coming… they seem to be having positive impact! The family expresses deep gratitude for all the long distance support, and positive energy being sent to Charlotte.
Charlotte was granted a small miracle when a bed opened up in the chronic ventilator unit of UC Davis. She will be transferred there, remaining at UCD Medical while family members ready the Sacramento home for her transfer to home nursing care.
This blog has been created as a vehicle by which friends can receive periodic updates and give blessings to Charlotte and her family.
